SunRay Sauna FAQ
How does an infrared sauna work?
Infrared heaters in the sauna emit FAR Infrared heat which is a narrow band of energy within the 5.6 to 15 micron level. This type of energy closely resembles the natural human spectrum so it’s easily absorbed by the body tissue. The body reacts by sweating profusely which has many health benefits including detoxification, improved blood flow, circulation and weight loss.
Do SunRay Saunas emit EMF?
SunRay, unlike many manufacturers, does not use wires to conduct FAR Infrared heat, rather we apply the perfect thickness of ultra-conductive carbon to an epoxy resin panel activated by positive and negative copper strips on either side. The epoxy resin panel is then laminated which results in ultra low EMF levels safe for continuous use.
How is the sauna packaged?
SunRay Saunas contain wooden panels that are pre-packaged in cardboard boxes and then placed on a wooden pallet to ensure the sauna arrives without damage. The cardboard boxes can be removed from the pallet and will fit through any door size 24” or greater.
Does the sauna come pre-assembled?
SunRay Saunas are not pre-assembled. They arrive in panels which are secured together with screws and metal latches. Assembly takes approximately one hour.
How long does it take to assemble the sauna?
Most sauna models take about an hour to assemble. Two people are required.
Are there any special tools required to assemble the sauna?
No, the only tool you need to assemble the sauna is a Phillips head screwdriver or drill with a Phillips head bit.
What voltage does the unit run on?
All SunRay infrared saunas use UL listed plugs and operate on 110V. Some larger indoor and outdoor saunas require a non-standard 20 amp plug. Traditional saunas operate on a 220V dedicated circuit.
Can I place the sauna on the second floor?
Most saunas weigh between 300-400lbs, so yes you can place a sauna on the second floor.
Can I use the sauna outdoors?
All SunRay Saunas except the outdoor models must be used indoors. They are not suitable for outdoor use.
How do I clean the sauna?
First, unplug the sauna and make sure it is cool before cleaning. To clean the wooden interior of your sauna mix 3 teaspoons of baking soda into a gallon of warm water. Use a towel to wipe down the interior with the baking soda and water mixture. Then wipe the sauna down with a wet towel and let dry. The glass in your sauna can be cleaned with glass cleaner. If you have an outdoor sauna, use a standard garden hose on a low/mist setting to wash out the interior. Make sure to leave the door open so the sauna can dry.
How often do I need to clean the sauna?
The sauna should be cleaned every 6 months or at your discretion if you are using it regularly. Using a towel to sit on while in the sauna will capture a lot of the sweat and thereby reduce the frequency of cleaning the sauna.

All saunas are shipped truck freight from Richmond, VA to anywhere in the continental US or Canada. All shipments are palletized and lift gate delivery is included in our FREE shipping (this means pallet is removed from truck and left curbside). The freight company will contact you after your order ships to schedule delivery as the delivery must be signed off. Before signing inspect the delivery for damage and reject any delivery with large damage. Note on the form when signing any minor damage. Please contact us for a white glove delivery or room of choice delivery quote. To minimize damage during transit all saunas are strapped to the pallet with wooden braces and interior boxes are protected with polystyrene foam with a minimum burst strength of 200 psi.
When your sauna is delivered, the purchaser of the unit must be present for the delivery. The purchaser is required to inspect the packaging for damage, torn boxes, or holes in any of the packaging. Do not sign the delivery receipt until you are 100% sure that the product you received is in good condition. Damage that is noted will be covered by the warranty policy. Damages that are reported later with no exemptions on the delivery receipt will not be covered. The packages must be opened within 3 days of receiving them to ensure the product is in good condition. If damage is found internally with no damage to the outside of the box, call the shipping company and us at 1-844-493-7633 right away to report the issue. Any type of internal damage must be reported within 3 business days of delivery in order to be covered.
Cancellations & Returns
If you cancel your order prior to shipment, we will refund your purchase. If payment has been processed, your refund will exclude the 5% processing fee.
You can return your SunRay Sauna within 15 days from the ship date it leaves the warehouse if units are brand new and uninstalled. The item should be in its original condition (including: packaging, manuals, accessories, original crate, etc.).
You are responsible for the price of shipment (both ways) and a 25% restocking fee. Contact us for a Return Merchandise Authorization (MRA) and shipping instructions before attempting to ship back.
Refunds will be processed within 3 business days from the time the return is received at the warehouse. Due to the high risk of damage when shipped back, you must package the product the same way you received it including any shrink wrap, tape and form. This will help prevent damages. Packages damaged during return shipment due to poor packaging may result in an additional fee of up to 25%.
Defective Products Policy
Please open and inspect all items once they arrive. If you receive a broken or defective product please contact us at 1.844.493.7633. Defective or broken items will be replaced or repaired by the manufacturer. Any broken or defective items will be covered by the manufacturer warranty policy.
SunRay Sauna Warranty Information
SunRay Saunas have a 7 Year Warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. To receive the warranty, the warranty registration card must be filled out completely and returned within (90) days of sauna purchase. This 7-Year Warranty covers the structure of the sauna.
The radio and other electronic parts in the SunRay Sauna are covered by a limited 18 month warranty.
